March 11th kicked off ConExpo and Evridge Supply Inc were Las Vegas bound! Meridith & Stephen Evridge boarded the plane at DFW cautious and prudent for the week ahead. Leading up to this week the world and the United States in particular were being introduced to a pandemic that we had not seen or heard of called COVID-19. It would soon change the way we lived and for that week how we simply interacted with each other.
The ConExpo is a huge worldwide convention that brings exhibitors, manufacturer's and contractors all together for one complete week. Classes, exhibits and meetings fill the week along with great opportunities to meet others in our related industry. This event has been the catalyst for our partnership with companies like Leading Edge and Pewag. Long standing partners since the 1990's like Hensley & Kennamental. Its where we build on these relationships with meetings and enjoy the hospitality with Blackcat Blades & MTG. Although we adapted to the "no handshake" policy in exchange of the new and improved elbow bump there was still the excitement of the future but with an underlining cautious approach.
Saturday we headed back to DFW, things had changed as did the flights. A panic had set in, toilet paper was the hottest topic and we flinched at every cough. Our trip was beneficial in many ways, our face to face meetings are priceless. And that cant compare to a simple email or even a phone call. We talked about new strategies and goals for the upcoming year. We brainstormed, we met other colleagues and learned what works best in their territory. ConExpo 2020 made its mark for better or worse but believe we will be back in 2023!
